Gotta love the mud!!

We were blessed with a couple of weeks of rainy weather that helped to cool us down from the heat wave. The girls took full advantage of our lack of landscaping (=no grass) that, when mixed with water, creates a fun adventure.....MUD!!

The girls big birthday gift 2012!

This year we got the girls one big gift instead of doing a birthday party. I wanted them to have something fun and exciting to do outside this summer while I manicaly try to organize the house for little Rheygan (yes, this is the name we our going to call our new sweet princess). So we got a trampoline!! We thought long and hard about the decision given that there are concerns about safety but in the end knowing that we would set up very strict rules concerning said trampoline, why not!

The girls were very very very excited and couldn't wait for mommy and daddy to set it up. The box proudly states that it takes only  45 minutes to set it up! Ha ha ha ha (tear drop)! 4.5 hours later.....we finally had it up and ready for action!!

Daddy has been having just as much fun as the girls!

The girls were so excited about the trampoline, they decided to eat their dinner on it.

The next day they jumped and jumped and jumped... and the day after that and the next...

They are getting so much great exercise and our whole family is enjoying it to the max. Next up, the girls want to have a "camp out" on it and sleep under the stars one night.

Mommy's favorite part - when bed time comes...they are out!

Happy Birthday Jake!!

Jake celebrated his 31st birthday yesterday and we had the chance to take the family out on our first family fishing outing. We went up to beautiful Pecos, NM to fish along the river there. The drive itself was breath-taking through the mountains, with the fresh mountain air and green, green, green surrounding us.

This unfortunately was the closest anyone got to catching a fish! 

I think our lack of fish catching had something to do with Mckenna throwing the bait into the water thus feeding the fish.

After failing by the river, we decided to head over to Monastary Lake. At least people were catching fish here but alas it was not meant to be for us.

 We ended up having such a wonderful time and Gracie was getting pretty good at casting her own line by the end of the day. We look forward to making this a family hobby and can't wait for our next outing!

We took the girls to the circus and quickly remembered that you are never too old to have fun at the circus!
